I havent watched this donghua for a while either so I am not sure what is going on but in the the novel, I dont recall her cultivation continuing to diminish, all I remember is that her cultivaton is weaken (didnt specify how much) and her Qi is diminished, she can no longer give whoever beds her the Qi like she did with Mu Yun. She is able to cultivate and recover though whether it is slow or fast I cant remember but she eventually reaches a high cultivation realm and is called the Zither (musical instrument) Fairy while studying under the Fairy Realm Sword Zither Saint
It is one of those plot devices cultivation novel uses, transferring Qi or strengthening the cultivation of the man when they have dual cultivation or intimate moments, it is one of those things that is taken for granted (in writing the novel) that no one questions how can the woman recover except by the passage of time she will or with your suggestion taking medicine with some other novels
And correction to what Talos wrote, it is only her that is able to do that, I dont recall her sister or her mum having the same ability to transfer Qi to the man she beds (not that that was in the novel lol) But Talos can correct me if I am wrong since it's been a while I read it, and I dropped it after Mu Yan gets defeated the third time, lost his wives and had to go to a higher real for the third time, this will happen in about 2-3 years our time, since it is still a long way ahead in the novel

The author never touches on it in the novel about other members but She does say in the novel that her special cultivation tech is from her clan. She also states to him that it has improved benefits to her cultivation speed but after she gave up that to him she can't recultivate it so her speed slowed down. Since you read the book you should remember a certain outside force and event not related to his alchemy that changes everything for the better. I wont mention that since even with spoiler tags it would reveal too much of future events and spoil anime watchers

so I use spoiler tags whenever I spoiler future episodes lol I dropped the novel because it repeated the arcs a few times, as I mentioned in my spoilers, I got so frustrated that the mc doesnt seem to be able to catch a break lol
